Elisa Simioni, Master’s student carrying out her thesis work at INESC Microsistemas e Nanotecnologias and i4HB, in collaboration with iBB, was awarded a Best Poster Award at Eurosensors 2026, held in Zurich, Switzerland.
During the conference, Elisa presented the poster “Towards a Bronchus-on-a-Chip Device with Integrated Sensing for Monitoring of Cell Culture”, showcasing the work developed within her Master’s thesis.
Her research focuses on developing a bronchus-on-a-chip platform with integrated sensing capabilities for real-time monitoring of cell cultures, contributing to more advanced and physiologically relevant in vitro models.
The poster was selected as one of the best contributions presented at the conference by the dedicated poster award committee. The Eurosensors 2026 Poster Awards were sponsored by Sensors & Diagnostics, Sensors and Wiley Advanced Sensor Research.
This distinction recognizes the quality of Elisa’s work and highlights the collaborative research between INESC-MN/i4HB and iBB in organ-on-chip technologies and integrated sensing.
Congratulations, Elisa!
