On November 23, 2025, the Multimode Photonics group at INESC MN, led by Prof. Marco Piccardo, was distinguished with the COMITES Prize for outstanding Research. Awarded by COMITES—the Committee of Italians Abroad, an official body of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs dedicated to promoting excellence and strengthening scientific, cultural, and institutional ties within the Italian research community worldwide—this prize recognizes research groups that demonstrate scientific excellence, international impact, and innovation. The distinction highlights the high quality and visibility of the research carried out by the Multimode Photonics group and reinforces INESC MN’s role as a leading center for advanced photonics research.
