Susana Cardoso participated as a plenary speaker at SSD’26, held in Catania, Italy, from March 30 to April 2, 2026, where she delivered a talk entitled “Magnetic Detection Modules for Biochips.”

In her presentation, she discussed recent advances in magnetoresistive (MR) biochips, highlighting strategies to improve device performance while maintaining compact system integration. The session also addressed innovative chip-layout approaches to minimize the impact of external excitation fields, including solutions with embedded magnetic field sources. Examples of both dynamic and static detection modes were presented.

The International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals and Devices (SSD) co-sponsored by IEEE focuses on research, development and applications associated with the field of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
