The POEMS – Portuguese Competence Centre in Semiconductors project officially kicked off with a launch meeting hosted by the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), the coordinating institution of the consortium. The INESC MN is one of the partners involved in this national initiative.
During the kickoff meeting, the POEMS consortium presented the project’s main areas of expertise and strategic objectives in the field of semiconductors.
Co-funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) and the European Union, POEMS is one of 27 European semiconductor competence centres aimed at strengthening innovation capacity and supporting companies in advancing semiconductor technologies.
In Portugal, the 16 partners of the POEMS consortium, including INESC MN, will be responsible for monitoring developments in microelectronics, assessing national needs in this area, and fostering collaboration between academia, research institutions, and industry.
