Ricardo Cabeça obtained his PhD in Biotechnology from Instituto Superior Técnico in 2009. His thesis was entitled “Electric-field assisted DNA surface immobilization and hybridization” and presented a strategy for immobilization and further hybridization of oligonucleotide strands below 1ms. Followed his degree, he started a position as R&D product developer at biosurfit, a Portuguese company developing point-of-care devices for the medical diagnostic market. He focused on design and prototype of centrifugal microfluidics, reagent storage on cartridge and assay development. In 2019 he concluded an Executive Master in Programme and Project Management from ISCTE-INDEG and started working as project management in the pharma industry. Currently, his main interest is focused in innovation management.
