Ruben Afonso is an Electronic Engineer with a passion for innovation and problem-solving. He has developed expertise in PCB design, laboratory instrumentation and both low- and high-level programming languages. His work spans across embedded systems, sensor acquisition and multidisciplinary projects that integrate electronics with advanced technologies.

During his Master’s degree, he focused on embedded systems for space applications and sensor acquisition systems, gaining experience with cutting-edge technologies. In his PhD, he worked with magnetic biosensors for the detection of multi-resistant bacteria, expanding his expertise in sensor technologies for biomedical applications. His collaboration with industry partners has provided him with valuable insights into project management and real-world applications. His technical skills include designing and prototyping electronic systems and developing embedded solutions. He is particularly interested in system integration, automation and sensor acquisition.
