The Physics Department of Instituto Superior Técnico, through its Condensed Matter Physics and Nanotechnologies Area (CMPN) and in collaboration with INESC MN, is opening an Expression of Interest Call for a Professor in Quantum Technologies (Experimental). CMPN area and INESC MN have jointly identified developing expertise in quantum technologies as a priority. The immediate focus involves the hiring of an assistant professor with a background in nanotechnologies for quantum devices (experimental). This strategic decision aligns with leveraging the existing resources and capabilities of INESC MN, particularly its clean room nanofabrication tools, and characterization facilities. The new hire must have expertise in applied physics related to nanotechnologies for quantum devices, and must build its activities around the existent infrastructures at INESC MN. Specific fields of interest include quantum transport, quantum magnetic sensing, quantum nano-mechanics, and quantum optical-electronic interfaces.
INESC MN will host the researcher and allocate necessary resources, including state-of-the-art lab space, specialized equipment, and initial funds to kickstart her/his research endeavors. To support student supervision and research activities, the new hire will have access to the Clean Room facility and laboratories for nanofabrication and characterization.
