iMPSS – MPS World Summit 2024: Workshop for Advancing Standards and Regulatory Science for MPS and Microfluidic-based Medical Products @ Seattle, USA, 9-10 June

The International MicroPhysiological Systems Society (iMPSS) hosted its 2024 World Summit, a premier event for experts in the field of Standardization for MicroPhysiological Systems, from June 9-10, 2024, in Seattle. The summit, organized by Dr. Darwin Reyes from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), brought together industry professionals, researchers, and regulators to share knowledge and best practices on advancing standards and regulatory science for MicroPhysiological Systems.

One of the keynote presentations at the Workshop was “Standardizing the Future of Microfluidics: The Crucial Role of MFMET” by Dr. Vania Silverio, an expert in the field of microfluidics. Dr. Silverio’s presentation was part of Session I: Regulatory Science Gaps in Microfluidics, which explored the challenges and opportunities in ensuring the safe and effective development of microfluidic-based medical products.

In addition to her keynote presentation, Dr. Silverio also served as a panel member for a roundtable discussion on “Regulatory Science Gaps in Microfluidics”, alongside other industry experts. The roundtable provided a platform for attendees to engage in open discussions and share their insights on the regulatory challenges faced by the MPS industry.
