The INESC Group and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation in areas including science for policy, foresight, innovation, startups, and research and technology infrastructures.
The agreement was formalised during the INESC Brussels HUB Winter Meeting 2026, held on 28–29 January at the University of Coimbra. The MoU was signed by JRC Director-General Bernard Magenhann and by the representatives of the five institutes that make up the INESC Group: INESC-ID, INESC TEC, INESC INOV, INESC MN and INESC Coimbra.
As a member of the INESC Group, INESC MN welcomes this framework for enhanced collaboration with the JRC, contributing scientific and technological expertise to the interface between research and European policy priorities.
The signing took place within the framework of strategic discussions on FP10 and the future European Competitiveness Fund, led by the INESC Brussels HUB.
