The prototype garments, featuring integrated biomedical sensors for real-time, non-intrusive measurement of heart muscle electrical activity and physical activity, underwent new tests at firefighters’ corporations and during field trials as part of the Safefire project. The results are highly encouraging! We obtained heart rate readings and received positive feedback from firefighters on the comfort of the wearables during use.
Specifically, tests were conducted on May 7th, 14th, and 15th at firefighters’ corporations in Góis/Alvares, Lousã, and Castanheira de Pêra, respectively. On May 21st, field trials took place at the Lousã-Góis mountain range.
