On November 12, at the Thematic Workshop “Semiconductor Materials and Emerging Technologies: Trends and Applications” — promoted by Inova-Ria and held at the University of Aveiro — more than 80 participants, including national and international experts, gathered to discuss the opportunities, challenges, and trends shaping the future of these fields, which are critical for Portugal’s technological autonomy and industrial competitiveness.
The workshop was part of the Micro-Electronics Agenda activities, strengthening collaboration between companies, research centers, and higher education institutions, with the aim of accelerating knowledge transfer and enhancing the technological capabilities of the national ecosystem. Tristan Gomes represented INESC MN, delivering the presentation “Spintronics for Neuromorphic Computing” and contributing to the debate in Panel 2: Semiconductors, Microelectronics and Emerging Applications.
