From 22 to 24 June 2026, INESC MN participated in the EUROoCS 2026 Annual Meeting, held in Braga, Portugal, jointly organized by INL, INESC MN, I3S and Universidade de Aveiro. The conference brought together leading researchers from academia, industry, clinical research and regulatory bodies to discuss the latest advances in organ-on-chip technologies and microphysiological systems (MPS).
INESC MN played an active role in both the scientific programme and the organization of the conference.Vania Silverio was a member of the Local Organizing Committee, contributing to the organization of one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to organ-on-chip technologies and microphysiological systems.
As part of the scientific programme, Vania Silverio chaired the round table “How can standardization fast-track microfluidics and organs-on-chip innovation?” and presented the Portuguese Organ-on-Chip initiative.
INESC MN also presented four posters:
- Overcoming translational challenges in organ-on-chip through standardization and interoperability, presented by Vania Silverio
- Low-cost 3D-printed tumor-on-a-chip: modular, dynamic flow and integrated electrodes, by Vania Silverio
- Measurement of velocity and shear stress in particle flows and their implications for biological systems (co-author Vania Silverio)
- Towards real-time airborne pathogen monitoring using integrated bioaerosol sampling and magnetic biosensing, by Inês Rodrigues
The participation of INESC MN at EUROoCS 2026 reinforces the institute’s commitment to advancing research in microfluidics, biosensing and organ-on-chip technologies, including work developed within the MFMET II and UNLOOC projects, while strengthening collaboration within the European research community.
