On 28 April, Instituto Superior Técnico welcomed Ambassador Grace Chang for a meeting focused on strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between Portugal and Taiwan. The discussions explored opportunities for mobility, joint research initiatives and long-term institutional collaboration.

A key moment of the visit was the delegation’s stop at INESC MN, where ongoing research in magnetic sensors, advanced electronics, photonic chips and new materials was presented. The institute showcased technologies with strong scientific and industrial applications, drawing particular interest in the context of Taiwan’s technology sector.

Paulo Freitas highlighted the importance of international partnerships in advancing technology transfer and developing innovative solutions with industrial impact, reinforcing INESC MN’s role as a strategic research partner in future Portugal–Taiwan collaborations.
